When a Passport Expediter Refund Will Be Available

Applying for a passport expediter can be a very good thing for you to do especially if you are going to be traveling on short notice. However, there may be times in which you are not going to be able to get the service that you want. This is because of the high demand for expedited service that you may run into. Fortunately, you can get a passport expediter refund if you are not able to get your service done on time.

 

It will cost sixty additional dollars to get expedited service if you are applying for a passport directly with the United States State Department. However, if you do not get the service within the two to three weeks that you would generally be able to get expedited service in you will be eligible for a passport expediter refund. This is because expedited passports get greater priority than regular ones do but there may be cases when service cannot be met for any particular reason.

If you had paid for the expedited service you will have to give a good reason to the State Department as to how you feel that you did not get the expedited service that you asked for. You should give the Department information on the date that you applied for the passport and when you received it and send the information by mail or email. You can sent a refund request at Service Refund, Department of State, 2999 Passport Place, Washington, DC 20522-2999. You can email it to refundsatpassportservices@state.gov too.

Remember that the only thing you can get the refund on is the sixty dollar fee for expedited service. You will not be reimbursed for any missed travel or any execution fees from the passport application.

While a private passport expediter can help you to get the passport quickly you should be aware that in most cases you will not be able to get the refund for the additional money that you are going to be spending for the private group’s services. Refunds can be given in some events, including delays from incomplete applications, delays caused by an overnight shipping group or delays from the State Department for any particular reason. You should check with your private group for information on refunds and terms of when a refund is available.

While passport expediter service is convenient you may not always get the service in the time that you asked for it. Therefore, you can get a passport expediter refund in the event that you do not get your passport in the time that you asked for it in. Be sure to contact the State Department and your private group so that you will be able to get information on refunds that you will be able to get.
